Frequently asked questions
Is this bootcamp right for me?
This bootcamp is designed for people who are starting a business or building a business and want to get clearer on finance, funding and the numbers behind better decision-making. It is especially useful if your finances feel unclear, your systems feel disorganised or you are unsure which funding routes may be right for you.
Do I need to be confident with finance already?
No. The bootcamp is designed to make finance and funding feel clearer and more practical, whether you are just getting started or want to strengthen the foundations you already have in place.
Will this be too basic if I have already started my business?
Not at all. The bootcamp is designed to help you strengthen financial understanding, improve how you manage the numbers and make better sense of funding and forecasting. Even if you are already trading, it can help you feel more organised and informed.
How practical is the bootcamp?
Very practical. The sessions are designed to help you apply what you learn straight away, so you leave with clearer financial understanding, stronger systems awareness and actions you can use in your business.
What makes this different from free online advice?
This bootcamp brings practical guidance into one focused day, with expert input, structured learning and follow-up support. Instead of piecing finance advice together on your own, you get a clearer path and space to work through the areas that matter most.
How does the free mentoring benefit work after the bootcamp?
Bootcamp attendees can apply for priority review for One to One Business Mentoring. Attendance at the bootcamp does not guarantee a mentoring place. If your application is accepted and a suitable mentoring match is available, the usual £27 admin and programme set-up fee will be waived. Mentoring places are offered subject to fit and mentor availability.
Why is the bootcamp priced at £27?
UP is committed to making high-quality business support more accessible. The £27 price is made possible through support from UP and the contribution of volunteer experts.
Will I leave with something I can actually use?
Yes. The aim is that you leave with clearer financial foundations, stronger funding awareness and practical next steps you can use straight away in your business.
What do I need to bring on the day?
Bring anything that helps you think clearly about your business finances, such as your questions, rough figures, current challenges or areas where you feel stuck. The day is designed to help you make practical progress.
Are places limited?
Yes. There are only 15 places available so participants can benefit from a better learning experience and more meaningful follow-up support.
